In early October exchange trading of biomasswill take place for the first time in Ukraine

In early October 2011 electronic trading of biomass will be organizedat the Ukrainian Energy Exchange (UEEX) for the first time in Ukraine – reported the press office of the Association of alternative fuels and energy market participants of Ukraine (APEU). The project is implemented by exchange with the support of the APEU. 2000 tons of wood pellets from three Ukrainian producers will be put forward on starting trade. As of 12/09/11 five companies as buyers submitted the preliminary application for participation in the trade. At the moment, APEU and UEEX are finalizing preparationsfor trading in biomass, as well as model documents for bidders. The minimum lot will weight 20 tons of biomass, the minimum step of trading - 10 UAH / t. The initial price of lots will be formed based on the current European market conditions and market price monitoring of solid biomass, conducted by the Center for Renewable Energy Fuel Alternative. Official presentation of the project will take place 28/9/11 during the 4th Investment seminar "Building an effective production and marketing of fuel briquettes and pellets. The heat and power generation."
